Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)
Our confessions schedule is First Saturdays of the month from 11 a.m.
until 12 noon and every Saturday from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the
Chapel. Also by appointment.
A part of making a good confession is to recognize areas in our life that need to change. Read the following "Examination of Conscience" and see what comes to mind and heart...
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you, whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. Amen.

- Do I make time to pray and listen for God’s voice in my life? Have I attended Mass regularly and listened carefully to the words of Scripture?
- Do I take the time to listen to my family and friends? Have I asked forgiveness from those I have wronged?
- Have I made an effort to learn more about my faith and what the Church teachers? Does my life reflect my relationship to Jesus?
Have I shown charity in my relationships with other people? - Am I overly concerned about what others think of me? Do I avoid speaking about faith or morality when it may be unpopular to do so? Do I speak with respect, even about people I disagree with?
- Do I use racial slurs or make fun of other ethnic or religious groups? Have I gossiped or spread stories that damaged reputations?
- Have I used God’s name carelessly? Do I curse in anger or frustration?
- Do I accept other people as they are, especially those in my own family and the people at work or school?
- Or do I judge others harshly, rejecting them if they don’t live up to my expectations?
- Do I support those who are going through a tough time, mentally or physically? Have I visited the sick and sorrowing? Have I contributed monetarily to the care of the poor?
- Do I accept with gratitude the gifts God is giving me? Am I careful to express that gratitude to God and to others?
- Do I avoid wasting food, water and other resources? Am I a good steward of the gifts God has given me?
- Have I abused drugs or alcohol, or in other ways needlessly endangered myself or others? Do I use pornography or waste time on worthless entertainment?
- Do I contribute regularly to the maintenance of my parish, both financially and with my time and talent? Do I pray for the local church and for those who guide us in the faith?
