Altar Server Training
A will be held on Friday, September 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for all our parish youth in grades 5-12 who are interested in altar serving and have completed the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. At this training, all those present learn and review their roles for assisting at Mass. All current altar servers are required to participate in training at least once each school year (current servers attend the second hour only). For more information, contact Verne and Shannon Farley at 431-6636. Please continue to pray for our altar servers as they serve in this important ministry!

FESTIVAL SILENT AUCTION
The Our Lady of Perpetual Help 2008 Annual Parish Festival and Silent Auction fundraiser is quickly approaching. Proceeds from this event will benefit the church and school community. We are kindly asking for donations of new or almost new items. Any assistance you can give towards the auction would be greatly appreciated. Auction items may be dropped off at the parish office or the school office. Thank you in advance for your generous support.

Baptism Information Session
There has been some confusion recently about our baptism information session. The purpose of this session is for one of the parents or godparents to pick up paperwork, receive information and sign up for preparation classes. Those wishing to baptize at Our Lady of Perpetual Help or take our classes should come to the Parish Office on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

USHERS AND GREETERS NEEDED
If you are interested in this important ministry of hospitality and welcome, please call Jacqui in the Parish Office at 299-4270.

Pilgrim Chalice for Vocations
To foster prayers for vocations in the home, our parish has instituted a pilgrim chalice. The chalice, as you know, is the cup used at Mass that following the consecration contains the Most Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. On the first Sunday of every month, the pilgrim chalice is used at Mass and then presented to a family.
That family takes the chalice home and reverently displays it in a prominent place in the home for the entire month. Throughout the month, the family promises to pray together daily for vocations. On the first Sunday of the next month the family returns the chalice to the church where once again, it is used in the celebration of the Mass and presented to a new family.
If you are interested in hosting the pilgrim chalice, please call the parish office to be placed on the list. We will then work through this list, one family per month, as we unite as a parish family to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life!

Eucharistic Adoration
The Blessed Sacrament is exposed every Monday at 8 a.m. following the morning Mass and stays exposed until 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Whenever you have the time, please feel free to make a special visit to our Lord in the Chapel during this special opportunity for adoration and worship.
